Samsung is in the process of developing a 13 megapixel camera sensor for mobile phones and tablets.
the sensor is currently development and will support a maximum resolution of 4208×3120 and back-side illumination for improved low light pictures.
The S5K3L2 CIS is currently development and will support a maximum resolution of 4208×3120, 30 fps video. And it features a back-light illumination for improved low light pictures, Samsung also says that the new sensor (S5K3L2) will be among the most advanced sensors it has produced to date.
Samsung claims that the S5K3L1 12MP sensor that was announced last year, is now under mass production phase, and should be plugged into mobile devices in the near future.
