The Mac Pro will soon be no more sold in Europe. The Apple machine rather restricted to certain occupations, indeed sees constraint retreat from March 1’st, and because of new European safety standards. The EU member and the new coming Member country soon and those EFTA are concerned.
It is IEC 60950-1 amendment is at issue here. It establishes indeed new electrical safety standards for computers. The fans are also in the viewfinder, since they are not well enough protected.
From March first, no more Mac Pro will be delivered in Europe. However, dealers have the right to sell the remaining stocks. Apple did not want to rely on its standard Mac Pro, since the new model is planned for the end of the year. The existing model is in turn the same since 2010.
A ban is not a real blow to the Cupertino company, the Mac Pro is reserved for a niche clientele.
