Office 2013, Microsoft’s latest version of its iconic productivity suite, has been available to businesses since mid-November, and consumers have been able to try it out in preview form for quite some time. (A preview version of Office 2013 RT is also pre-installed on all Surface RT tablets.) However, until now, we have been waiting on word from Microsoft on when we should expect the full Office 2013 suite to be available.
The company previously revealed that its Office 365 subscription service giving users access to the Office 2013 suite would cost $99.99 per year, while different standalone versions of the suite will range from $139.99 to $399.99.
It looks like we finally have a launch date for Microsoft Office 2013, Best Buy Canada and its Future Shop sibling are both listing multiple entries for Microsoft’s Office 2013 and Office 365 in downloadable and retail forms, which says that the product is set to be released on January 29th.
Nintendo announced the Wii Mini – it’s a smaller and lighter version of the original Wii console sans the internet connection.
The new Wii Mini is intended as a gaming only device and is able to run all original Wii games. GameCube compatibility won’t be available though.
The Wii Mini will be available only in matte black with red boarder and comes with a red Wii Remote Plus and a red Nunchuk controller.
Wii Mini launches on December 7 on $99.99. Unfortunately it’s going to be exclusive to Canada initially and there is no info if and when it will become available elsewhere.
Best Buy has start the pre-ordering of the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X for AT&T. The Nokia flagship is priced at $149.99 with a two-year commitment, while the HTC Windows Phone 8X will be kicked off at $99.99.
There is no specific information on the shipping dates for the two smartphones – Best Buy has only mentioned that it “will ship when available.” We believe that we will find out more about the dates on the Windows Phone 8 event on October 29.
With the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the Nokia Lumia 920 sporting quite similar specifications and a $50 price difference, all signs point at a serious battle for market share shaping up. Microsoft however, won’t mind any of the two devices coming out on top.
Update: The Nokia Lumia 920 (is no longer listed) has been removed from the pre-order page. While the HTC Windows Phone 8X is still available.
