Well that’s not a while since the Microsoft Surface went on sale just couple of weeks ago, and as usual for any new product we have started hearing complaints from the early adopters. The two most prominent issues for now relate to the sound and the optional Touch Cover.
According to The Verge, who experienced these issues first hand, the audio occasionally stutters or mutes when the Surface is in use or in standby. As for the Touch Covers, some users are experiencing fraying around the edges.
Microsoft is reportedly receiving “a lot of” Touch Covers returns according to the company spokesperson, and the company takes a step and they replacing them for free.

Microsoft has released four new ads for Windows 8. The video ads are global and are going to be aired in 42 countries joined by printed ads, outdoor posters as well as their online counterparts to help boost user awareness and quick adoption of Microsoft’s latest computer OS.
The advertising agency responsible for the videos is Crispin, Porter and Bogusky and here’s what the agency’s Chief Creative Director Rob Reilly had to say about the ads.
We selected music from up and coming bands. We didn’t want to use overly popular songs because we wanted to bring the viewer on a journey of discovery, both through the storytelling and the music that accompanies these stories. Sometimes, as in “Express Yourself,” by Labrinth we found a new take on a classic old song, much like the reinvention of Windows.
Here they are :
LG just announced in Korea three new Windows 8 powered devices with the H160 Hybrid laptop, the V325 Tablet and a new AIO.
The first model the H160 is a 11.6″ slider like laptop with a IPS Panel that will weight just around 1.05kg for a battery life of 10h and that pretty much all what we now as for now. Indeed LG did not give any details on the H160 flavor of Windows 8 (RT or not) of is this device will be powered by an Ivy Bridge CPU, ATOM or else.
The device will have to compete for fans against Sony’s similarly-sliding VAIO Duo 11 — not to mention Toshiba’s U925t Ultrabook.
The second model announced is the V325 All In One desktop and its 23″ ten finger multitouch screen, Core i5 CPU, GeForce GT640M and TV Tuner.
Finally LG also showed a new Windows 8 Tablet yesterday but unfortunately did not give yet any details and specification on this last one.

The Microsoft Surface tablet pre-orders has just started in the US and as a result Microsoft has already sold out all its US stock of the base 32GB model (without Touch Cover). If you pre-ordered the 32GB version now you have only wait three weeks before it will delivered to you, while the other two available models are still scheduled to arrive on October 26.
The RT tablet is still available in other countries where Microsoft has started the pre-order yesterday.
If the success of the pre-order is anything to judge by, Microsoft is going to have a pretty successful Surface launch come October 26. However, Microsoft should do its best to bring the device to more countries if it is to mount a serious challenge to the Apple iPad.

With the release of Microsoft next operating system, that is just over a week from now, Microsoft is working hard to advertise the product and create public awareness. If you’re in the US you may have already seen Surface ads all over the place by now.
Microsoft’s Windows 8 marketing campaign has officially begun. Microsoft will holds a special media launch for Surface and Windows 8 on October 25th, with a number of special holiday pop-up stores opening at midnight on October 26th to sell Windows 8 PCs and tablets. This first ad is just one of many, we expect that Microsoft will make it near impossible to avoid Windows 8 this holiday season.
Microsoft has now released an ad for Windows 8 that will air on national television, shortly followed by several others. It’s a teaser ad that quickly goes through some of the Windows 8 features, such as the new Modern UI, multi-touch functionality and the ability to run applications side by side. There is a whole lot of other stuff going on as well, with space shuttles launching, laptops exploding and kids breaking piñatas but it’s a Microsoft ad so it was bound to be a bit weird.
Still, this new advertising campaign seems quite good and will definitely make people more curious about Windows 8 and all the new devices that will be launching on October 26.
So we tells you, be sure to check us on October 26, we’ll be there to gives you all what it’s about.
