Sony just come to announce a brand new tablet in Japan the Xperia Tablet Z. This new tablet is 6.9mm thick and weighs 495g, which makes it the world’s thinnest and lightest 10-inch Android tablet on the market, and even thinner than the Toshiba Excite 10 LE that was once the champion in both fields, and even smaller tablets such as the iPad mini.
The Xperia Tablet Z has a 10.1-inch, 1920 x 1200 resolution ‘Reality Display’ powered by Mobile Bravia Engine 2. The design language of the tablet is similar to the recent Sony Xperia handsets, such as the Xperia Z. Also, just like the Xperia Z, the Xperia Tablet Z happens to be dust and water resistant.
Other specs : on the back of the Xperia Tablet Z is an 8 megapixel Exmor R camera with backlit CMOS sensor. Under the hood, the Xperia Tablet Z is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 processor, refreshed by 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage space expandable with microSD card, NFC, LTE and Sony’s S-Force virtual 3D surround sound technology.
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z will be sold in black and white. Right now there’s no word on the pricing and availability.
